The OneWorld Now! Summer World Language Program 2020 is over.
– Dates: June 29th – July 17th
– Courses offered: Chinese 1A, Arabic 1A, and Korean 1A
– Content: the equivalent of a first semester high school class
– This class is right for: students with no background in the language they are studying.
– Dates: July 27th – August 14th
– Courses offered: Chinese 1B, Arabic 1B, and Korean 1B
– Content: the equivalent of a second semester high school class.
–This class is right for: Students who completed Level 1A in their language or have equivalent prior knowledge.
Classes run from 9am – 11am Pacific Time Monday through Friday during each session, with about 1 hour of independent work expected each day outside of class. The independent work must be completed in order to earn credit.

For students in the Seattle area, if public health conditions allow, we may also offer optional in-person cultural activities on some afternoons.
Tuition is on a sliding scale to allow as many students as possible to access the program; use the tuition calculator under “How much does the program cost?” to calculate your family’s tuition. There is a $10 registration fee to hold a student’s place, which counts toward tuition.
June 12th, 2020 is the final deadline to register.
Students who register before May 29th will receive a 10% early-bird discount on tuition payments made at the time of registration.
Students with a high school graduation year of 2020 – 2024 (enrolled in 8th – 12th grade in the 2019-20 school year) are eligible to enroll.
To attend this class, you will need either a smart phone, tablet, computer or other device that is connected to the Internet, can download Zoom, and has a front-facing camera. If you need assistance getting access to appropriate technology and you are in the Seattle area, please contact info@oneworldnow.org.
OneWorld Now! is an accredited Supplementary School through Cognia (formerly AdvancEd). Students enrolled in Seattle Public Schools will receive 0.5 credit per session, or 1.0 credit for the summer (the same as taking one year of language class in your school).
If you are enrolled in a school outside of Seattle Public Schools, contact your counselor to find out if your school will accept credit from OneWorld Now!. You may also contact info@oneworldnow.org if you have additional questions.
Students will receive a grade of P (Pass) or NP (No pass) at the end of each session. In order to receive a grade of Pass, students must:

Let us know where and when you previously studied it, for how long, and how you studied (e.g. in a school program, on your own, etc). We’ll get back to you with a recommendation of which level would be right for you, or connect you with the teacher for an evaluation.
