Register today for the 13th Annual Get Global Youth Conference: Youth Can, Youth Will


Student-planned and student-led, the OWN Get Global Youth Conference is designed to empower youth and young social entrepreneurs to take action on important global issues.

OneWorld Now! students present dynamic workshops and inspiring “OWN Talks” to foster meaningful and intentional dialogue about the intersection of social justice issues, global issues, and the role of youth. OWN Get Global will also feature a global fashion and talent show. Lunch includes cuisine from around the world. This event is for high school students and is one of few conferences in the nation that is organized and facilitated exclusively by high school youth!

Student workshops:

  • Social Justice: Youth Jail led by Rajean, Miracle, and Jason
  • Conflicts within Black Lives Matter led by Gloria, Aminah, Zekeya, and Sabrina
  • Equity: The Lack of Equal Opportunity and Treatment for Minorities led by Antonella, Nhi, Isaac, and Kemberly
  • Islamophobia: Its Forms and its Crimes led by Mushtaq, Jamila, Sarah, Saida, Shuria, and Ifftu
  • Governance: The Opioid Crisis led by Steven, Logan, Brennan, Sonny, John, and Ze
  • Climate Change: Its Effects and How to Reverse It led by Anna, Brian, Derrek, Matilda, Michael, and Sky

OWN Talks:

OWN Talks are brief, compelling speeches delivered in the style of TED Talks to inspire the audience. Students pick the topics.

Participate in the Opportunity Fair

Bring your resources to Get Global! Share your valuable opportunities with 150 Seattle-area high school students. All after-school programs, non-profits, colleges, universities, etc. who offer programs, internships, scholarships, jobs or more for high school students (age 14 to 19) are welcome to participate. Fair participants are asked to arrive by 11:00 am to set-up. Break-down begins at 2:00 pm. SIGN UP FOR THE FAIR For questions about the fair, call the OneWorld Now! office at 206-223-7703.
