Muralist for Global Leadership Program Volunteer Project
OneWorld Now! is an after-school language and global leadership program for high school students in the greater Seattle area. Our vision is that all young people have access to life-changing international education. We seek an independent, organized, and dedicated individual to lead a Mural painting project in the International District/Chinatown area.
Commitment: Work with OneWorld Now! staff and students on agreed-upon days in April and May to re-paint a historic Chinatown/International District mural (approximately 70 ft. by 8 ft.) which was previously destroyed by graffiti and painted over. The artist’s responsibility is to create a supply list for the mural, with supplies to be purchased by OneWorld Now; outline the mural using original designs and a projection system; work with a group of high school volunteers who will paint in the mural.
Compensation: a stipend of $1,000 will be awarded. Materials needed for the mural will be purchased by OneWorld Now!.
Whether you are an expert or novice muralist, this is a chance to share your art skills and collaborate with high school students with a dedicated team of staff that wants to see this project come to life.
Compensation: a stipend of $1,000 will be awarded upon completion of mural. Must be authorized to work in the United States; OneWorld Now! does not sponsor visa applications or petitions.
Location: The mural is projected to be painted on one of the outside walls of the Chong Wa Benevolent Association building in International District/Chinatown.
