Employer Matching

Many employers offer matches to your non-profit donations, doubling your gift. Does yours?  Here is a handy list of businesses that do. Look up your employer and add their support to yours.

Deduct Your Gift from Your Paycheck

Government agencies and some larger workplaces allow you to pledge a gift to a nonprofit that they will deduct, month-by-month, from your paycheck. This makes it easier to make a larger gift by spreading it out over the year. OneWorld Now is enrolled in many of these programs. Sign up during fund drive season and let your employer send your gift each month:
  • City of Seattle Combined Charities
  • King County Employee Giving Program: 10037
  • Washington State Combined Fund Drive: 1481178
  • University of Washington Combined Fund Drive: 1481178

OneWorld Now Talbot MRCI Scholarship Fund

You may direct your donation towards those students who are learning about the many cultures and regions that speak the critical language of Russian, now essential more than ever as our world deals with the shifting geopolitics in the many Russian speaking parts of Europe and Eurasia. Gifts to this fund may support OWN students with scholarships for the following: OWN study abroad to Russian or Eurasian countries for study of Russian language; scholarship support to study through another organization to further Russian and/or Eurasian languages; OWN leadership workshops and zoom exchanges together with students from Russian-speaking regions. If there is no OWN or other opportunity for students to travel to a Russian speaking country, these gifts may support OWN students studying abroad elsewhere in the world.

The OWN Talbot MRCI Scholarship Fund honors Jim Talbot, whose vision and persistence at the height of the Cold War, along with his belief in citizen diplomacy, created many bridges: fostering work cooperation and creating opportunities and friendships between dozens of Americans, citizens of countries of the former Soviet Union, as well as numerous other countries, that continue to have positive repercussions today.

If you’d like to support this Fund, please note TALBOT FUND in the memo field as you make your gift.

Stocks

Donating your publicly-traded stock to OneWorld Now is a double win. You support our students. And you earn meaningful tax benefits. By donating a gift of stock, you’ll avoid the capital gains taxes you’d otherwise incur by selling your stock and you also ensure that we receive the full value of your assets. Please contact development@oneworldnow.org to let us know if you’d like to make a gift of stock and we’ll send you–or your broker–our stock transfer information. We will be sure to send you a receipt.

Estate Plan Gifts and Account Beneficiary

Did you know you can name OneWorld Now as a beneficiary of your will, trust, and life insurance policy? Even folks early in their career can begin imagining the legacy of global citizenship they want to leave to the future.

Will & Estate Plans
While retaining control of your assets during your lifetime, you can name OneWorld Now in your will or living trust. After your family is cared for, you can support the future you believe in, and strengthen your legacy.

Life Insurance Policy
A simple way to support our students is to update your life insurance policy to include OneWorld Now as a beneficiary. If you want to be sure your primary beneficiary is cared for, you could name us as a contingent beneficiary: then we would only receive a gift from your policy if your primary beneficiary is unable to receive your gift.

If you’ve included OneWorld Now in your estate plans, please let us know by contacting development@oneworldnow.org, so we can properly know how to use your gift and how you’d like to be recognized.

“As a person I tend to stay reserved a lot and I’m very introverted, so I never believed I belonged in a community setting. That all changed when I joined OneWorld Now. You feel a spark every time. I definitely know that I felt it and I’ve seen that same spark in others too.”

Hidaya A., OWN Alum

Thank you! Your support means the world to our students.
