Born and raised in Ulsan, South Korea, Minju Kang is passionate about studying and teaching languages and culture. Minju studied Arabic and Japanese at the University of Iowa where she double-majored in International Studies and Japanese and minored in Arabic. Minju continued to study Arabic and learned Persian at the University of Washington where she obtained an M.A. in Middle East Studies. In addition, Minju studied abroad in New Zealand, Morocco, Japan, and the states. Her first visit to the states was through a high school scholarship program to Portland, Oregon for three weeks.
Previously, Minju worked with various non-profit organizations including Iowa City Foreign Relations Council and International Rescue Committee. At OneWorld Now!, Minju teaches language classes, develops instructional materials, and helps coordinate study abroad programs. She is excited to work with OneWorld Now! students and help them pursue passions for learning about different cultures through learning languages and studying abroad. Outside of work, Minju loves reading, drawing, and trying new restaurants and dessert shops.
